North Herts Sanctuary
Providing shelter and targeted support to people in need

Who we help
We provide accommodation and support services to anyone who is homeless. We provide day programmes to address issues faced by service users to help stabilise their lives and provide them with the skills and support to achieve independent living. For our referral application form please download the following document. AdmissionsPolicy.pdf

Service users
Service users can be anyone over the age of 18. Our services users have a range of problems including substance dependence, mental health issues, relationship breakdown, probation or being released from prison.

Service users can refer themselves to North Herts Sanctuary between the hours of 9.00am - 4.00pm weekdays at the facility.  They can also be referred to North Herts Sanctuary by a number of outside organisations including North Herts District Council, local hospitals, the police or the probation service.

Cold weather provision
Coping with cold weather if you are homeless can be an extremely difficult. This year in addition to our normal services, we will be working with Stevenage Haven (www.haven.btck.co.uk/), Stevenage Borough Council (www.stevenage.gov.uk/) and North Herts District Council (www.north-herts.gov.uk/) to provide comprehensive emergency accommodation for Rough Sleepers in the North Herts area. The CWP will be open from late November until March 2012.
